Can I have a Civil Wedding Ceremony?
The gazebo in the garden is licenced for civil ceremonies. Here you can seat several hundred on the lawn and the gazebo can be incorporated into a marquee if you wish. The gazebo is planted with roses and clematis, and is set in beautiful gardens with uninterrupted views of the countryside beyond.
Since Covid, we are also registered for 3 other places in the gardens.

Yes. Caterers are your choice - as you can see below we have hosted every type.
Do you have Wedding Night Accommodation?
The inner walled garden provides a secluded hideaway for a wedding night bell tent - fully furnished as shown here or with “Indian” hangings.

How long can I party?
You can party in the marquee until midnight and chat quietly round the fire pit which since the drought in 2022 we fill with tealights, in the camping grounds until the early hours.

Do I have Exclusive use of the venue
Yes - for the whole of the four days of your stay
Can I plan my own wedding?
With only six weddings held each year yours will be a truly individual event. We offer you a blank canvas to create the wedding of your dreams over the 4 days that you are here.
We are here to give you help and advice if you need it - how to fit into your budget/which marquee or caterer to choose etc. The world is your oyster, we are hugely flexible and have hosted weddings of every type from formal to festival.
Where do I hold my Reception?
Your reception is held in a marquee in the grounds. You can position your marquee anywhere you like - on one of the lawns, in the fields or in the remains of the outer walled garden. The supplier, size and shape are your choice, from traditional to tepee.
Do you charge Corkage?
No you are free to bring in your own drinks.
Can our guests stay at Shillingstone House?
Space for "Glamping" / Camping is available in the outer walled gardens, where you can also place a marquee if you wish.
Bell Tent City - you can also bring your own tents
Can I Bring my pet?
Yes, by arrangement for the ceremony only as we have farm animals around us.

Can we Brunch on Sunday?
On Sunday you can brunch, hold a lunch party or picnic in the grounds before clearing the grounds by Sunday evening ready for the marquee to go down on Monday.
